Las Vegas Spoilers, Speculation & Gossip

Las Vegas cancelled by NBC

Friday, February 22nd, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Did you love last Friday’s episode of Las Vegas? Well, I hope so, because that is the series finale… yep, I said SERIES finale. NBC has pulled the plug on the show and will not be renewing the series for a sixth season. Looks like Josh Duhamel will be able to focus his time on being Mr. Fergie!

And about that cliff hanger? No word on any kind of a two-hour TV movie-ish wrap up so fans will be left with that cliffhanger ending after putting in their five seasons worth of viewing into the show.

This sucks. What is it with NBC? They also cancelled Crossing Jordan without allowing them to do a series finale episode either, and I still haven’t forgiven them for that either!

Tom Selleck joining Las Vegas next season

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

I can’t wait… Tom Selleck has signed on to join the cast of Las Vegas next season. I admit, I had wondered what NBC had up its sleeve when they renewed the series but reduced the cast size.

Selleck will join the cast of the NBC drama next season, playing a billionaire with a mysterious past who becomes the new owner of the show’s centerpiece hotel, the Montecito Resort & Casino, the network said Wednesday.

Selleck is coming to the series as the same time that James Caan, who starred as the casino’s surveillance chief and chief exec, departs. Caan, who had previously announced he would leave after the season finale in March, will be back for the premiere next season, NBC said.

While I was never a huge Magnum P.I. fan, I did love him as Monica’s boyfriend on Friends… and wished they ended up together in the end and not Chandler.

Las Vegas has been picked up for next season

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Fans of Las Vegas can breathe a sigh of relief. The popular show starring James Caan and Josh Duhamel has been picked up by NBC for its fifth season. The show, which is set in a casino in Las Vegas, has been a hit with fans for its fast paced and sometimes high rolling ways.

NBC has handed out an early renewal to its veteran drama series Las Vegas, which airs from 9-10 p.m. Fridays, for a fifth season, NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly announced Tuesday.

“The cast and producers have consistently given us what we want from Las Vegas – pure entertainment – and we’re looking forward to another fun ride next season with the show,” he said in a statement.

This season, Las Vegas has been averaging a 2.8 rating/8 share in adults 18-49 and 9.0 million viewers overall. It ranks first in its time slot in the demo and is up 8% versus NBC’s year-ago non-sports rating in the time period.

Who can resist watching Josh Duhamel? And I admit, I love the crossover episodes with Crossing Jordan (which seems to be on the NBC chopping block at the moment).

Sandra Bernhard guest stars on the next Las Vegas

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Sandra Bernhard takes Las Vegas by storm when she shows up to guest star on the NBC drama. Sandra Bernhard plays a housekeeper, Margo Poon, to Ed. The episode, titled The Burning Bedouin, airs Friday, February 16, 2007.

When Sam’s long-lost flame awakens from a decades-long coma, Delinda takes on Sam’s duties and hosts her rich client and his three spouses. Complications ensue when Mike falls for one of the client’s wives and a jealous Danny learns of the client’s true intentions. Elsewhere, Ed tries to clean house by replacing his housekeeper (Sandra Bernhard).

I really enjoy Sandra’s dry humor and loved her when she guest starred on Crossing Jordan for a couple of episodes, especially when she was hitting on Bug!

Who’s pregnant and who gets kidnapped on Las Vegas season finale cliffhanger

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like the season finale of Las Vegas is going to have some good cliffhanger material this time around… which is good news for fans since that means it will be pretty likely that Las Vegas will be back next season too! Ausiello addresses a fan’s question about whether Las Vegas would be back for next season, and he revealed it likely would and some great spoilers for the March 16th season finale cliffhanger.

Producers seem to think it will, since they’re ending the season with a ginormous cliff-hanger. Actually, make that four ginormous cliff-hangers. In addition to a wild shootout, the action-packed hour — which will air March 16 (remember, only 17 episodes this season) — will feature a bombing, a surprise pregnancy, a kidnapping and at least one death.

I had forgotten Las Vegas only got a shortened season this year of only 17 episodes. Any guesses on who is the pregnant one and who knocked her up?

Second part of Crossing Jordan & Las Vegas crossover finally airs

Sunday, February 11th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Remember the two part crossover episode that saw Woody & Jordan in Las Vegas then Danny & Delinda in Boston? Well it all got screwed up when Crossing Jordan got bumped from the Friday night schedule (remember Las Vegas & Crossing Jordan used to air back-to-back?) Well, Las Vegas aired their episode when it was scheduled, even though Jordan was still in jail back on Crossing Jordan, but now the second part of the crossover that was airing on Crossing Jordan is finally set to air tonight!

The episode is titled Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

Josh Duhamel and Molly Sims guest star as their “Las Vegas” characters, Danny McCoy and Delinda Deline, whose Boston vacation turns into a crime-busting mission when they help Jordan and Woody investigate the murder of a boxing champ. Meanwhile, Bug works on the case of a woman who was found in the Charles River—and had been there since the 1980s. And a pregnant Lily returns to work and reveals the identity of the baby’s father.

Now, is it just me, or don’t we already know who the father of Lily’s baby is? Or did she and Bug get it on behind the scenes without any of us knowing? I doubt it, so I don’t know why it is an issue that she is announcing who fathered her baby.

I still can remember Danny and Jordan in their pajama scene when he was commenting on her rubber ducky jammies when he arrived at her door late on night. And with the title of the episode, wonder if Jordan will be getting lucky with anyone… Danny? Woody? Well, we can always hope, she deserves some happiness after the whole J.D. fiasco.

The Closer’s Michael Paul Chan hits Las Vegas

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Michael Paul Chan of the TV series The Closer will be paying a visit to Las Vegas… Las Vegas the show, that is. He is scheduled to appear on the episode “Wines and Misdemeanors” as Larry Chen.

When a rare fine wine is discovered in the Montecito’s cellar, it’s auctioned off for $1 million. But is the wine genuine? Meanwhile, Sam squares off against a gaggle of retirees, who infiltrate the casino for a logic-puzzle tournament; and Danny gets jealous of Delinda’s new pastime.

The episode is scheduled to air January 5th on NBC.

James Kyson Lee has gained super popularity this season as Ando on Heroes. But James Kyson Lee is also paying a visit to Las Vegas, where he is set to guest star on a January episode of the popular NBC show.

Lee plays Joon Ho Park on the episode “Wagers of Sin”. There is no specific airdate for this episode, but it is believed to be airing sometime in mid-to-late January.

Judd Nelson guest stars on Las Vegas in January

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

I have loved Judd Nelson, right back from his Breakfast Club Days. And I enjoyed him on Suddenly Susan, although I never was a huge fan of the show. But now he will be hitting the small screen in January with a guest starring role on Las Vegas.

Judd plays Ollie, the husband of one of Ed’s former employees. The couple returns to Las Vegas for their anniversary but Ed is suspicious of Ollie.

Here is the official episode description:

One of Ed’s most revered former employees (Kate Levering) returns to the Montecito for her wedding anniversary, but her hubby (Judd Nelson) raises Ed’s suspicions. Meanwhile, Mary and Sam battle to woo different VIPs. Indie rockers OK Go appear as themselves.

This episode, titled “Fleeting Cheating Meeting” will air on January 12th.

Las Vegas season premiere bumped back a week

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

First Crossing Jordan got bumped from the Thursday night line up that was supposed to feature the one-two-punch of Crossing Jordan and Las Vegas. Well now, Las Vegas has also been bumped from its season premiere date of October 20th. But fortunately for Las Vegas fans, the season premiere has only been bumped for a week, and is now scheduled to premiere on October 27th, following 1 Vs. 100.

Still no word on the fate of the crossover episode with Crossing Jordan stars, since Crossing Jordan has yet to receive a start date from NBC.

Crossing Jordan & Las Vegas crossover a go despite CJ being pulled from the schedule

Monday, October 2nd, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

There had been a lot of concern about what would become of the Crossing Jordan & Las Vegas crossover, that had been scheduled to air this season.  Both shows were set to debut back-to-back on October 20th, but NBC bumped Crossing Jordan from the lineup for the new game show 1 Vs. 100.

Chad Darnell, the assistant to producer on Crossing Jordan, has some unofficial scoop on the crossover on his blog.

In regards to the “Vegas” crossover, (again, I’m not the NBC spokesperson) - but a few fans wrote concerned about how that would work out.  The two episodes are actually stand alone episodes, so they will simply air as two different episodes on each show.  The storylines and the character plots are not affected.

I can’t be the only one who had hoped that the crossover was one that would require Crossing Jordan to premier the same day as Las Vegas!

Crossing Jordan bumped from fall lineup for Bob Saget game show

Sunday, October 1st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Although the website still says Crossing Jordan will begin the new season on Friday October 20th at 8pm, it has been bumped by a 5-week run of a new Bob Saget hosted game show called “1 vs 100″.

So what does this mean for Crossing Jordan fans? It would appear that fans will be waiting until the new year to find out Jordan’s fate after the death of J.D. A five week run would push the first possible season opener during that time slot to November 17th, which is late for any fall season premier. So look for a mid-season debut, which will undoubtedly upset many Crossing Jordan fans.

The website still states an October 20th season debut, so no clues there as to when the new season could start.

And it brings into question how this will effect the upcoming crossover episodes with the show Las Vegas, which is (was?) set for an October 20th season premier, back to back with Crossing Jordan. The fourth episode of Las Vegas is supposed to be “History of Violins” airing on November 10th, which features Woody.
